In reality when we thing of Cab Calloway songs most of them are recorded in the early 40's or abouts.
I've come got a few very early Cab Calloway recordings (1931) and there are so, so.
Is there any of his early recordings that you really like? I sure there is great stuff out there, just I don't have them.

You know who - off all people - was working on a big Cab Calloway project with Cab's granddaughter? Vice Grip from the New Morty Show.
Criminy.
Last time I talked to him (4 years + ago), he was trying to put together a boxed set or something.
I'll see if I can locate my original contact information and find out where he got on that one.
Thanks for shaking me up! I think I'll call Lee Moore, too.

You could always go for Cab's "The Early Years, 1930-1934" 4-disk box from JSP. I actually lost mine some time ago, I've been meaning to pick up another copy.
It has fair recording quality but a great view of his pre-1940's rawness at band leading.
Also check out "1935-1940 ".
