I am a big fan of Jimmie Rodgers (the "Father of Country Music") and I am looking for songs written by him that are good for Lindy and other Swing dances. Any suggestions are appreciated.
This is what I have so far:
Blue Yodel No. 9 (Standing on a Corner) - Recorded by Jimmie Rodgers and Louis Armstrong (1930)
Never No More Hard Times Blues - Bob Wills (1946)
My Rough and Rowdy Ways - Carl Sonny Leyland (1998)
Ben Dewberry's Final Run - Carl Sonny Leyland (2004)
Waiting For A Train - Carl Sonny Leyland (2004)
Thank you,
Lorenzo

I've dj-ed a couple of tracks off Merle Haggard's great 1969 Rodgers tribute album "Same Train - A Different Time", among them Mississippi Delta Blues, and I think Gambling Polka Dot Blues. On MDB Merle even shouts "Swing out now!"

Oh, sure. Thanks Johan. Now I had to go and order *that* CD.
Stupid music. Wish there were less of it.
