Blues: Memphis Slim

Any slow blues fans out there would probably want to check out Memphis Slim... I picked up his Past Perfect comp, although it seems there are a LOT of recordings of this dude. He plays piano and sings like no other. Most of the songs on this CD also include bass and drums... also some VERY funny/rauchy lyrics

"I went to a beer tavern / to have a real good time / I had forty dollars when I entered / when I left I had one dime --- that was a beer drinkin' woman, don't you know, man, don't you know..."

not to mention the lyrics to "grinder man blues," which must be heard to be believed  "i do my rammin' at midnight..."

all the songs are pretty much the same, 60-90 bpm and 12 bar blues. this is strickly late 40's / early 50's urban blues style. recommended for fans of T-Bone Walker and his ilk.
