Well, those things makes sense to me. I guess it's to each her or his own. Since I never used the CD-system to DJ, I don't feel the need to replicate it. And I don't feel compelled to cross-fade songs for any reason. I suppose the computer-crashing thing might be a concern, but my laptop doesn't usu...

I don't understand why some folks are so married to the idea of ONE PROGRAM DOING IT ALL. I use jRiver for obsessively-organizing and detailed-searching all my media, and then when I'm dj'ing I'll just drag-n-drop my songs into Winamp as a playlist to go out onto the floor. It's really easy to have ...

Ooh, I have no idea about the "zones" thing. I'll have to look into it. It does let you have multiple split "views", where you can look at up to 3 different sections of your computer at once. I like that feature because then I can split the window into a list of all my swing musi...

So. I have a PC, I run jRiver Media Center (on Devona's recommendation) to preview all my stuff, and I play music out on the floor using drag-and-drop to a Winamp playlist, with the Turtle Beach USB soundcard. I own a Y-cable and bring it to events I'm DJing for. I also have "Tempo Tapper"...

Well, this is more like a dozen DJ's for a weekly night that gets between 40-60 dancers.

So that's [pulls out calculator] 20% of dancers wanting to DJ. To be generous.

*bump* Everybody and their granny wants to be a DJ in my scene. Literally, we went from about maybe 5 "regular" (and I use the term loosely) DJs about a year and a half ago to at least a dozen or more now. And to be completely honest, I can't stand some of the new DJ's tastes in music. But...

The Big 18 - Celery Stalks at Midnight?

Hi all, Recently a fellow DJ told me he had a version of "Celery Stalks at Midnight" by a band called "The Big 18." Does anybody know where I might be able to find it? I checked iTunes and Amazon, but got nothing. --- And while I'm at it, where can I get "The Miser's Serenad...
