Yeah, I had been thinking about that. A 1604 won't fit into the rack that I'm looking at (although a 1402 would). I'm thinking about getting a Behringer Eurorack MX2642A. http://www.behringer.com/MX2642A/MX2642A_medium.jpg It's 16 channel (8 mono, 4 stereo) and 4 bus, so I'll have monitor capabiliti...

Nice little syllabus ... I'm actually in the process of starting to develop a DJ training program for the DJs at Blues Underground here in Seattle and I've put together my thoughts in these little bullets. I will definitely use what you've listed to good use. (just read this list with the word "...

Oh, I know it's going to be plenty heavy and I don't mind. I want a setup like this because it is relatively portable and durable and I can take it to multiple venues and just plug it into a PA system or powered speakers (which I plan on getting in the future). Basically, this is the kind of stuff I...

Building a compact equipment setup
So I've been looking at purchasing some of my own equipment for ECBF and other events I've been running based on the economics ... I'm looking for some input as to what equipment fits my contraints. http://www.odysseygear.com/display.php?sku=fzgs804 http://www.odysseygear.com/images/products/lrg/fzg...

If you want an all apple solution, one of the airport versions contains an audio output which iTunes recognizes as a seperate audio device. With it you can do all of your DJing from iTunes. Otherwise, off of the top of my head there are a few solutions posted in the laptop DJs thread you can find ...

No. What they are referring to is the original sampling. In order to be able to produce a sound you must be able to sample at twice the sound's frequency ... that way you can catch both the crest and trough of the sound wave ... if you could only sample at that sound's frequency rate, then you could...

Because the market is completely empty right now and many people (not just DJs) are shifting their entire music collections to their computers via MP3s. Witness the IPod. The gamer market is completely saturated, whereas the music market is dry. The iPod isn't a valid comparison for a soundcard for...

Gaming completely controls the market because: 1) Gamers upgrade frequently ... they are always willing to get the latest and greatest technology. 2) Gamers are willing to spend a lot of money for each upgrade (consider that some video cards cost more than barebones computers) 3) Gamers are willing ...
