However, I noticed in the System Profiler that the Mac internal Bluetooth adapter is on the same USB bus as the left-hand external USB port, where I had the Turtle Beach plugged in that ill-fated night. In some limited testing with the coworker's audio device on the right-hand USB port, which is no...

Never had a problem using the Turtle Beach usb device on a PC as my main output device, can't help you with the Mac side though.

One thing I've done over a long period of time (months - years) to increase peoples acceptance of faster tunes: Try starting your set with your average bpm being up above 140 (your is roughtly 137)... those slower songs set the tone for the night. Anything above that range becomes "fast", ...

All avatars.

Even the forum Basie banner.

Upgrade Firefox, and get the adblock plus. I run that, it doesn't block anything here.

No recommendations as I haven't looked into it in a while. I'd just record it using my computer, and then burn a CD because it is also simple to do, but if you're not into computer tech, I'd just start looking for some recordable cd players... just make sure they have analog inputs for recording and...

Do most people not have ad blockers installed? This is great!
There are tons of different adblock solutions. I'd guess only a small amount are using some sort of adblock. Many people have pop-up blockers, but not adblockers.

I assumed that's what he was talking about... I have adblock plus installed.

Sure, I'm sure most recordable cd players have analog inputs you can record directly from. just because you're recording to CD doesn't mean the source has to be digital.

1. use firefox
2. block pop-up windows (tools->options->content)
3. install adblock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10
This is exactly what I do. It's the best option i think.

I've used other tools to extract the audio... any "Demuxer" will separate the audio and video channels. Unfortunately the audio source from many AVI files and such is substandard.

So, a year on, how do people feel about Vista for DJing purposes? Has anybody had any issues with it? I'm in the market for a new laptop, mostly for DJing, and I wonder if it would be worth the extra hassle to get XP installed on it. No problems here. Running Vista Home Premium on an Acer Aspire 55...

I use it differently than that. I keep all my files organized by explorer. I use the "archive" as an archive of what i've played, and do all my searches through explorer. I realize I'd have more power in using BPM Studio's archive (i'd be able to search via BPM etc), but I have chosen not ...

For those with the mini turtle beach usb sound cards, do they disable the internal sound when you plug them in? As with most people here, I would guess, I set my sound profile in windows to "no sounds". I hate all those internal clicks and bleeps anyway, but they specifically don't belong...

There's a lot of good Western Swing out there. (BTW, Andreas turned me onto that Brisbane Bop disc... good stuff!)

Start with Bob Willis or Milton Brown. There's a great collection from Proper Records called Swinging Hollywood Hillbilly Cowboys.
