I don't have a Mac. I use a combination of Traktor and J. River Media Center on the PC.

Mixxx is the only free DJ software that I know of for Mac OS, so I thought I'd pass it along. I have no experience with it at all.

I echo the comment about finding a sync solution. Keep the lossless stuff on the home rig, carry the compressed stuff on the laptop. I'm sure J.River Media Center may be able to do that. I only have one music library, and it fits on my drive, so I haven't investigated this, but I know that you can ...

I realize this is a total derail, but have you done any listening tests to see if you really need that much data on the road? ---------------- IMO, the real limiting factor here is iTunes. There are other programs that are far more sophisticated about linking up playlists and storing and retrieving ...
