By the way Keith... ever thought of doing a live recording of Duke's Band at Lindy Gras? Something to think about. I talked to Duke and Evan about it last year and they said they had never recorded a live album. They sounded interested. I for one would by a copy of that in a heartbeat.

With no disrespect to Kermit and that whole "variety" thing...

Just hire any bands with Duke Heitger and Evan Christopher involved for every single night of Lindy Gras instead.

This girl really wanted Peggy Lee's version, and I don't carry it for obvious reasons... so I just pawned her off to Dave who was coming on after me (I think he played Barbara's version).

Anything from Jazz Tribune, also listed as "The Indespensable _____." I've got the Jack Teagarden one, and that was a waste. I listened to many others at the BPI in Paris last summer. Okay, so the liner notes are long and they're excellent French practice! However, the song selection is u...

Mood Indigo

Anyone ever come across a good medium tempo, non-vocal version of Mood Indigo? I'm especially interested to find out if there are any New Orleans style versions in this vein.

Yes. As I've noted several times on this board, the Centennial Edition remasters are MUCH better than the Blanton-Webster original release. The Centennial Edition sounds as if it came from a completely different recording session ten years later. The Dreyfus reissues about which you asked Greg seve...

So I now own both the cenetennial remastered (which I had already) and original CD release versions of the Blanton-Webster set, all thanks to a cheap deal on Ebay, and my perverse need to see which one has better sound quality.

How's that for overlap?
