I second Jesse on the Artie Shaw version having a drive no one else has.

I like Mora's version as well, but it's a different feel.

It is a fantastic unit, but I wouldn't recomend it from mobile DJing.
I try to only use it at home. It is not very rubust. A small fall could mean the bin for it.

Anyone know of any software that supports a lot of formats like APE?
I use BPM Studio and having a lot of its features would be nice, such as:
-Dual CD-player setup with monitor channel
-Marking songs already played, and their play history
-Fadeout/Fadein control
-Easy playlist workage

very good point Lawrence. In that case, my research is pretty much null and void. So does anyone have any suggestions of a robust headset or a case to make my headphones last a bit longer through luggage?

I guess it would be fair to name the ones I've been looking at: Sony MDR-NC50 - $115 noise canceling circumaural. Skullcandy Proletariat - $100 Strongly looking at these. folds up nicely, award-winning, and well-reviewed (and very favorably so!) Sony MDR-V600 - $67 had a good pair of these but they ...

looks like I found a few models that are circumaural and sound-limiting. But they cost maybe $20 more than the types previously mentioned (which, btw, were running about the same price).

Would you pick circumaural headphones or supra-aural headphones with a noise-reduction feature?

I used my friend's laptop during ETB and ran BPM studio off a portable hard drive (the LaCie Rugged, partitioned into two parts, one for executables, the other for actual music) BPM studio kinda worked in Vista... Vista happened to write protect the drive it was on and the drive which the music was ...

As far as backing up original CDs losslessly I wonder if anyone just copies a disk image onto hard drives? To recover a lost CD you'd just burn the .iso (or whatever, I'm fuzzy on the terminology) to a new CD. Does that work? Is it easier? Obviously it doesn't save as much space as ripping to FLAC....
