Thanks for the links. The postings suggest the quality could be rather nice. I'll have to get a turntable now to see for myself.
I didn't pay very much for them, which is a bonus. They do look fabulous in the dark red vinyl, with the booklets.
Cheers
Chris

Franklyn Mint LPs
I recently took up an offer, from a house clearance, for 15 pristine boxed sets (2 LPs each) from the Franklyn Mint collection; "The Greatest recordings of the Big Band Era". They don't look like they've ever been played. I believe there are another 35 boxes for the full collection. The on...

Thanks Jesse, I've never heard of Red Prysock before. Took a listen on Allmusic and will now seek out a copy of the relevant album. Reuben, I tried rigging my headset up to use the mic on it to use the midomi site but it wouldn't work. Probably my sound input is busted. Thanks for the link tho. Chee...

[Answered] Hand Clappin, Red Prysock
Can anyone identify the piece of music that starts the clip with the sax bursts over the clapping. I've heard it many times before but haven't been able to identify it. I love the energy.

The clarinet gets pretty shrill at times which when amplified wouldn't be appreciated by a listening crowd. Maybe it's just a case of using a bit of eq...

In fact, the track listing on CD2 of my Stardust double CD is in fact identical to the lazerlight CD.

If I'm dancing, I generally prefer DJ'd music. In many cases, I've just found the sound of a live band just gets boring after 6 or so numbers, especially if they are of the trad jazz style. I did however, witness the awesome 'Battle of the Bands' competition in Lake Como at the SwingCrash event. Two...

Artie Shaw track - I Ain't Comin
I have a double CD set called Stardust (blue cover) from Delta Music (63015) that has a fabulous track called "I Ain't Comin". The sax playing is so good it makes my spine tingle. However, the sound quality is a bit distorted and fierce at times, so I was wondering if anyone else knows of ...
