Herrang

How many of you are coming to Herrang this year? And how many think you will DJ there?

I'm going to be there 11th to 20th of july and I think I will dj a couple of nights. Don't know right now how much. Depends on how many DJs are there at the same time and how Mandi has it all planned.

I have heard all of her music, I own some of it. She has recorded both in english and swedish. Though I wouldn't call it swing or jazz really, you can still lindy to it if you want to. Myself I call most of her music jazz-pop. It's the kind of music that I might play one song in a night, but only if...

Depends on what they pay me and what they're going to use it for. If it's a nice guy just wanting to play it at home or so I think it's ok. If the venue is going to use this and play it regularly the I want more money, because that is taking away opportunities for me or other djs to work at this pla...

Check out Big Kahuna & the Copa Cat Pack
They have released two albums, one of them entitled Hawaiian swing. Both are in the style of your theme.

No, I'm referring to blues music as what the general public today calls blues, and also jump blues. I'm not talking about music for blues dancing, I know what that is. What I'm searching for is not just jump blues but also regular uptempo blues music (I would never refer to what Jimmy Witherspoon pl...

Blues for lindy hop

I DJ'd a night a week ago with only blues music. We had a blues singer (Candye Kane) performing and wanted to keep the night in a blues theme. Some experienced lindy hoppers thought the music was not perfect for lindy but still liked it since they liked the whole theme thinking. I used Jimmy Withers...

But wathever you do, don't buy fujitsu drives. The first one I had lasted 4 months until crash, luckily I managed to save my data before it died permanently. So they gave me a new one - it lasted amazingly 48 HOURS before a total crash that left it unusable. After some persuasion I managed to get a ...

I've never really enjoyed Goodman much. I must admit I haven't explored all of his stuff but what I've heard haven't made me think it would be worth the effort. There are so many other artists from the same years that I find much more interesting. I actually don't think I've ever played anything by ...

Hey, I just downloaded the Nero demo and I can't find a way to list my music library by song -only by artist. Is there a way to list by song title (so I can see how many versions of "Oh lady be good" I have for instance?) Nero is not a listening or database software. It's a cd burner soft...

Hi everybody I'd just thought I'd let you know that the mod i mentioned below actually is worked on quite a lot right now. A beta version within a month is not impossible as I see it (though you never no for sure when its a freeware project with no paid workers). This means we would be able to integ...

Dj'ing e-music stuff

As for playing eMusic at a dance, a few of the local DJs, including me DJ from eMusic generated music and most people don't notice. Sure, Lawrence might be able to tell. But, the average dancer does not notice. That's definitely correct. I use E-music stuff too and as far as I know nobody has notic...
