Might be worth hanging on to. It's early days, but with things like this coming out for the touch, I'd say we're likely to see some suitable DJ tools being built for the touch / iPhone series. Could be wishful thinking, but I'm inclined to be optimistic.

I think that "muffled" is about the right description. The hiss is certainly gone, but so is all the high frequency content. I think that a compromise that keeps some of the hiss might have been a better choice. Mmmm. Yeah - I'll definitely keep playing with it, and will try that - if I c...

It's crashed my browser 3 times. Firefox 3.0 Which 'it'? The software? The sound samples? That strange killer clown that's been hanging around lately? ;) If it's the sound samples, you could right click on 'em, save 'em, then try them in an mp3 player. I'm not sure what to recommend about the clown.

Slightly late response - I've been playing around with a couple of programs of late - DeNoise & ClickRepair. For the first time yesterday, I used DeNoise properly 'in anger', so to speak, and was pretty impressed with the results. Couple of samples, in case anyone's interested - I used Tough Tru...

i didn't verify this just now, but i am fairly certain that itunes will recognise its own burnt cd, even if you take it out of the drive and put it back in later. (well...don't do that, though. just let it sit in there and re-rip!) You're absolutely right. I had reason to try this out last night, a...

What I meant was that they claim to be working on a Mac version of Doubletwist.

I've tried jhymn, but have never managed to make it work.

I've been trying to find a good answer for this for a while - and the only real answer I've come up with to date involves (unfortunately) a PC - so if you have an Intel Mac, you could do this via Bootcamp or Parallels or VMWare. (They claim to be working on a Mac version, but I'm not holding my brea...

Oh - and there's always Bananaphone. If you use that one, it'll make me feel (slightly) better about missing Herrang this year.

Re: Worst Songs Ever Heard at a Lindy Hop Night?

Now there's a coincidence - I was just trying (and failing miserably) to edit a decent ending onto my main contribution to last year's showcase. It was a fun evening that, although a little odd. The harder we all tried to find truly awful songs, the more everyone seemed to want to dance to them... A...

My dream is similar, but would involve a small tablet Mac. Which, according to very strong rumor, may well be arriving this year... the newton is back! i wouldn't count on it. it has been the favourite rumour for the past ten or so years. it's not any more believable this year. Hmm. I'm not so much...

The Complete Ella Fitzgerald Songbooks

I just bought The Complete Ella Fitzgerald Songbooks from iTunes (UK) for £7.99.

254 tracks.
Currently £169 on amazon.co.uk
for £7.99

Pricing error maybe? If this floats your boat, run don't walk - it surely can't stay there long? Or is it similarly priced in the US?

Is this one available anywhere on CD or for download? I've been trying to find it, but without success.

If I recall correctly, Jesse DJs regular venues that have been going for years and have a pretty established routine and ...
