I think it is still a confusing mess. All I want is a cd. I don't want a garden hose, or a cookbook or any of the other crap they got on that site.

Sooo...the Kansas City theme is a popular set, and it seems I might be DJing at KCLX. What artists should I build up to be able to do a good classic set of KC music? Was there any music recorded in KC, or is the best you can hope for big city (like NY) recordings soon after bands left KC? 1) Bennie...

In my early pc dj days I used to dj form my laptop using itunes and I would preview using my ipod. I love my ipod, but with 9000+ songs on it, it's a pain to queue from. Winamp is a totally acceptable (with some caveats) dummy program to play from, so I'm fine with it. I use my ipod as an emergency...

I'm looking at either the M800 or the M1400. We have a mixer already that is in good shape so I want to simplify the amp to to a Tarzanish "take input and make loud".

Recomendations for a new amp

I've been tasked with acquiring a new amp for our scene here in Austin. Basically I need to replace a Mackie PPM series 808S professional powered mixer. The problem that I find is that professional stuff is over the top for just a swing dance but the next step down is basically a home stereo. There ...

Like Martin, I use Winamp as my output (so that I can cue off of itunes). I think that besides the inability to run two instances and specify a sound card, it's perfect for DJing. In my early pc dj days I used to dj form my laptop using itunes and I would preview using my ipod. Problem is that the ...

They are all on eMusic (minus Oscar Peterson Plays The Count Basie Songbook). If you are interested, that might be an economical way of getting them. Except that you can't dj from them. Playing MP3s from eMusic is probably the least infringing thing out there right now in the DJ world. I can think ...
