But you entitled the thread "requests" and so now you've opened up the pandora's box. Because EVERY DJ has request horror stories. But on your specific point, I think DJs should avoid making requests to other DJs, in general. They have their own time to spin. If you really want to turn on ...

Paul and Sharon's music webpage

Paul and Sharon's webpage has always been a good source of music info. His album recommendations cover some of the better groovy swing music out there. I hadn't surfed there recently, but I just found that they've added even more stuff to it. An "artist of the month" that talks about the a...

Full name

So full names aren't an option in the profile, and the memberlist? I think I remember reading that you tried having full names at first, but it bombed.

*You* are playing Ramsey Lewis "The In Crowd"? Now that is FUNNY. At least you did pick a good token groove song.

I saw some "glow in the dark" CD-Rs the other day at Frys, so I bought them for fun. Of course, its the upper surface that's really the glow-in-the-dark part, but hey, they are still cool.

"Music" vs "Data" CD-Rs

I visited Frys the other day and saw that most manufacturers were now labeling the basic CD-Rs as "music" vs. "data" now, and charging more for the ones labeled "music". I assumed it was a scam and bought another bunch of blank data disks. I wondered what was up with th...

The reason the input was so quiet was that I eventually figured out that I had a setting wrong. If I remember right, it was something about making sure the card was treating the input as a mic input instead of a input from my stereo.

Varying tempos and song styles through an event

How would you vary tempos and song styles throughout a 3-hr evening event? Not song-to-song, that's a whole other thread, but in general. On tempos, I would tend to play faster songs on average during the 1st hour, but not extremely slow or extremely fast songs. This keeps the energy high when peopl...

Yehoodi Radio Show

No one has started a thread on the Yehoodi radio show, so let me be the first to start. Perhaps as others do their shows they can be announced on this thread and they can post their playlists here, too. I'm the featured DJ this month on the guest Thursdays. Here's my playlist: Yehoodi Radio - Guest ...

Well, there's still 230 or so members on the Yahoo list, and only 55 or so on this forum. I suppose there is a large group on the Yehoo list that are registered but don't subscribe by email or by digest, so they may have not heard about this new forum.

I doubt it. I know the problem, when you get 200 responses to your query on Amazon.com.

What I do is find the song on AMG, complete with all the occurrences, then I search the page for the artist using Find option on Windows explorer.

That's a bummer, CDNow always seemed to have more songs samples than just the first five that Amazon typically has, and they used Media Player instead. But how can you prefer CD Now's Search interface? CD Now was explicitly by either Artist or Album, not a combined search, so it always took me a whi...
