Lawrence, I see what you mean. To expound, it sounds like the main difference is that, in my opinion, The Big 18 is good music not GREAT. When I came up as a dancer/dj in 2001/2, I heard so much hype about the Big 18 from well-regarded DJs (and this forum), that I began that holy grail search for t...

There are alot of assumptions in those sentences. That sentence contains 8 words. The sky is blue. My opinions contain assumptions. I agree with Rayned. And I will add the obvious point that your assumptions are questionable. They were not popular just because they were hi-fi; they were popular bec...

Re: Most Ella Fitzgerald/Chick Webb songs "disposable&q
The Wikipedia entry for Ella Fitzgerald says of her late 1930s recordings with Chick Webb: Ella recorded nearly 150 sides during her time with the orchestra, most of which, like "A-Tisket, A-Tasket", were "novelties and disposable pop fluff." I think they are referring to songs ...

Thanks for recommending GarageBand. Not so fast there Apple hater. Thanks for recommending GarageBand. I have yet to find an easy to use editor that can clip out the middle of a song and allow you to re-mix it back into the ending. I will give it a try. I have used Nero and ITunes to edit songs, but they only allow you to sever the beginning or end of a song off, w...

Re: Don't Be That Way - recordings you like and play
Do you rag on everyone or is it just me here? It's been tiresome and somehow you slipped off "ignore". Back you go. How utterly ironic in so many ways, not the least of which is that he targeted Katie, of all people, with whom I frequently disagree but I have never interpreted as being at...

To find the next song, I run a smart view in WinAmp to find songs that fit what I am looking for in the next song (SmartViews are called Smart Playlists in iTunes, most of the MP3 players have a similar database function in them). Similar to what others have said, usually the tempo is not drastical...
