The venue I DJ at is a sports bar so we have 5 projectors and 20 or so TVs, sometimes I bring in old dance clips and play them on a few screens for people to watch. Never done it with sound though.

I just tend to ignore people who I want to go away. I'll start watching the crowd and stop responding while the person is gabbing away. I'll toss on my head phone for added effect. CD player might need to get cleaned. I also tend to use Imation or Memorex CDs and I have very few problems with them that might help too

I get requests for Salsa and and such. I usualy refer them to venue's Calendar which has a Salsa night on Thursday and tell them that tonight is Swing dancing night and that I don't have any Salsa (I don't use other people's CD to DJ unless their friends of mine) to play.

I get this all the time and I feel little obligation to play a request if a timeline is put on it. Heck I'm more likely to get a request played quickly if someone just writes the request down on a piece of paper (yes, I provide the paper and pen because I have a terrible memory) and just askes nicely.

Wouldn't be too hard to place a video camera on a tri-pod and hook it up to a monitor in the DJ Curtain. You could see out using the monitor but people couldn't see in.

I playing "Version X" by Jackie Wilson as a joke one night and it caught on. But usualy I just pick something fun to end the night on.
