Has anyone got a recomendation for persional cd CD players to DJ with.
I can't afford a proper DJ CD player.
I'd really like a line out plug and a count down timer on the display.
Any one have anything?

Hi Jesse, You did a great selection at the Hellzapoppin comp. I really enjoyed them. One thing about the Hellzappin comp was that some of the shines were set in a jam form to the phrasing. All songs are going to have energy and feeling changes in phrasing. As a dancer a high energy phrase is going t...

DJs' signature tunes

Shanabanana mentioned this in one of her posts, and it was some thing I’d not thought of before. If you were to review your own DJing, would you say you have signature tunes? And if so, are they standard charts or a special you have picked up some where? Would it be a good or bad thing to have some ...

I'm just curious. It seems like a lot of the DJs on this board do not like Rockabilly music.
It just doesn't make me want to get up and dance. Thats all.

Great songs, bad recording quality

What do you do when you have a fantastic chart in your collection but the recording quality may not be the best. I’ve got charts that to my knowledge only have been recorded once, but the recording quality is not fantastic. Some of them swing and kick so hard, but I know that if I DJ some of them, I...

I think the only rule I would have is to try to play music that the dancers want to dance to. Roy, I general the rules you state above a very good, but I would perfer to use them as guide lines. The above rules IMHO don't suite every situation, and as djstarr said, Thats a lot to think about when DJ...

That sounds great.
They could have just changed their name then to: The Swingin' Session.

Looking forward also to hearing them. I was getting a little bit to much Jump blues for my ears.
