iTunes song redemption

I got a bunch of free song caps from my Pepsi addiction. I remember someone giving the tip of downloading Ella Fitzgerald's "Bill Bailey" off of iTunes since it's a hard to get song. Are there any other rare songs on iTunes that might be worth spending 99 cents (or a Pepsi cap) on. Or a so...

About to buckle and get me a laptop.

I haven't read all 21 pages, but I'm guessing from the last page that Dell's aren't all that for DJing?!?

Any brand recommendations? I saw a Toshiba for a decent price. HP? Sony (although they seem pretty expensive in comparison?)

I'll kick it up for specific dancers when they show up as well. Dawn Hampton always requests "our song" when I DJ, so I have it set up when she's around. Back when SlickMike DJ'd more regional events, he'd always play one or two songs and call them my "theme songs." but they're m...

that's dedication... and pretty funny also. That's not the whole story. I was walking to my gate when I passed the "House of Blues" shop in Terminal C. They had the new Putumayo albums from Kermit Ruffins and a New Orleans sampler. When I bought both of them, I asked the cashier if she ha...

I found a CD at the New Orleans airport for 16 bucks. In fact, I almost missed my flight because I had to wait to buy the CD

Yeah, but Ella was no Satch!

And well, I'd include Carmen McRae in that batch of elite jazz singers who make a song their own.

I agree on the Whatchawanna track. At least it shouldn't have been first. It just so happened that I went searching for sound clips on AllMusic on the tracks and that was the first one I got. It made me a little tentative on getting the album. That and I wanted to buy half the albums that the tracks...

He can't blame you if he can't think of anything different to play for his set. The only way I'd think he'd have a point is if those 2 songs are staples in his collection, something he's known for playing or introducing in your scene and songs that the audience may associate with him. While there's ...

On a socio-political note, I find that the crowd favoring slower rooms and Blues rooms aren't people I want to hang with as a general rule. The geek/can't get some factor seems even more pronounced there. When I go to Keys Lounge, I can see bikers, sh*tkickers, Mexicans, pool sharks, ol' Mumblin' J...
