And FYI, that post was in relation to a Dell widescreen laptop. Hmmm... Standard screen here, but, the interference could get to the Audigy? I was hoping it was isolated enough to get a clean signal through... The power source for my laptop is a three prong AC adapter... Does this mean you are usin...

From earlier in the thread: So the "internal" vs "external" soundcard debate is more about the crappy soundcards in laptops themselves then (or possibly noise interference from internal cards)? Yeah, it's the interference from the other electrical parts in your computer. Try this...

So I ask the question again. Because no one has addressed it. People who think swapping music is bad because it takes away money from the record companies and indirectly from musicians. Do these people also only buy new CD's because buying used CD's gives no money to the record companies either. Th...

Portland has a pretty successful one that's once a month. It's a tango, blues & swing dance, with lessons in all of the dances beforehand. They organize it in a tandas format (a tango term, basically a set of 3 songs. In tango, when you ask someone to dance, you're expected to dance the entire t...

You know, it's kind of funny that I started this thread with an interest in DJing from my laptop and I have decided to forget it. At all the events I have been to, some laptop DJ has had "something" go wrong. Or they didn't have the right adaptors. Or the volume from their laptop was so l...

The ratings and some of other information is stored in a separate XML file (some of the info, like artist and album is stored directly on the ID tags).

Mos Def does swing?

I was listening to jazz on the radio this morning and I heard the announcer say the the song coming up was done by Mos Def ... and it was a pretty decent version of Caldonia. I've done some checking on allmusic and google and I haven't been able to find out what album it's from ... anyone else got a...

For those who would say that an iPod won't hold your entire collection, just stop to consider ... do you really need your whole collection? How much of it is stuff that you wouldn't actually play? ;)

I use iTunes as a database to search for the songs I want to play ... Winamp is my actual output. I only use iTunes on my laptop, where I purposely keep my music collection to be slightly smaller than the size of my iPod (that way my entire DJing collection can fit on my iPod). When listening to son...

Well, let's see ... you are insulting part of the potential customer base's dancing skills and you announce a "DJ knows best" attitude when it comes to knowing what's good music (which isn't the same as what people like to dance to). It comes off as haughty and condescending. Yeah, hard to...

So i'm told that you can't use an iPod as an external hard drive on a PC. In that you can't use it to play from while using a laptop because it doesn't store in mp3, and has a unique file structure in order to support it's playlist feature. To me this is a deal breaker, so how much of that is true?...
