"Itty Bitty Pretty One" I hope I spelled correctly. I don't even know who sings this junk but the other DJ here in South Florida has been playing this song for the last 7 years. We DJ together quite a lot and he still plays it just to see my reaction. I detest it. Girls even know not to as...

Is the Black & Blue Label US based or not? I've heard a few CDs but I personally only have one. They seem to put out less know recordings.

What titles do you guys have and what do you suggest?

Yo Rayned, you took that Artie Shaw thread way too serious. I think the cold and gray weather is getting to you. Aren't you lucky to be down here is less than two weeks soaking up some 75º weather and sipping some Porto Wine? For the record, I do have "The Spirit is Willing" and the "...

Not sure if this qualifies, but Joe Williams died after getting out of his hospital bed, walking out thru the hospital doors and walking more than two miles to his home. He was only a few blocks from his home when he collapsed and died. “He indicated to the staff he was leaving and that he would be...

Y6A Highlights

Man on man. What a weekend. Congrats Shorty Dave and all who worked to make this weekend so amazing. It is difficult to talk about all that happened, but here are some highlights: * I spent most of the Saturday night event talking to old dancers about the old Savoy days and just listening to the ban...

So it's looking like this will have more SwingDJs members than any other event, no? Kinda makes sense given all the special stuff (beyond just swing dancing) going on that appeals specifically to us geeks: Basie Alumni, "A Great Day in Lindy", a couple discussion panels, Harlem Renaissanc...

I picked up a used CD by a WWII era Swedish Swing Band called "Swedish Hot Seven". The CD has a few interesting danceable songs. This bands is all made out of strings (guitar, bass). They sound very much like Cats in the Fiddle.

You should get if you can find it.
