The samples do sound nice.

I press all my secret tracks to vinyl and put on a plain white label. Individual kanjis are brushed onto each pressing.

There's a relevant quote in this article that was posted in a Yehoodi thread on physicists looking at the structure of swinging music: http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg16822704.300-all-that-jazz.html?full=true Part of the reason for this relationship between the swing ratio and tempo, says Frib...

Re: Herrang?

Dawn Hampton (a regular special guest) said she preferred Big Band music and implied that she didn't like some of the small group music that was played (music with 'clarinets and violins'). I think she named Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Harry James as bands she liked, although she didn't name pa...

Btw, I _was_ using cog for previewing but found that it no longer lets itunes click and drag songs across to it. Is this just me, or is it a new itunes/new cog bug? I like cog because it's nice and light and nifty for doing quick previewing when I don't to fuss with opening up DiscoXT or something ...

Great advice, thanks guys. I've used DJ1800 on a friend's mac which I found ok to use but I keep seeing all these programs for PC with whizz-bang functionality and all I really want is something simple. Tenks! :D If you're on a mac, look at Cog. You can drag from itunes to it. It's really simple.

I've been using traktor more lately. Especially since i've gotten an upgraded sound card to play around with. It doesn't have the greatest documentation so you have to play aorund a bit.

Good to see someone who has made it work. I've been experimenting with it to deal with a large music library but it does have a high learning curve. I probably won't dj with it since i dj off a mac, but i do have it loaded on my pcs and have a portable copy on a usb.

Nathan summed it up pretty well. For a novice DJ, I'd say the Winamp/iTunes combination or equivalent would be the best place to start. Once you get used to it, you'll probably figure out what you'd like to do differently to make your job easier and then you can shop for better software. Those of u...

FooBar2000

Does anyone here use Foobar2000? It seems to have an avid following but also a high learning curve. It's very configurable and supposedly low footprint if you have a large library. Just curious.
