Also, a lot of the places that do feature good music don't feature good dance floors. Or any dance floor, for that matter.

I work with a local jazz singer at the only weekly venue in our city to feature live music for dancers. It sure sucks when only 25 people show up (which happened last night) but on the nights when you get a good crowd, it's awesome.

I could play that instrument you used to play in elementary school that's just two sticks that you hit together.

I was watching the Ken Burns jazz thing and the narrator said that when Sidney Bechet's New Orleans Feetwarmers played at the Savoy, attendance was low because "the lindy hoppers could not dance to his music."

Although it's admirable to want live music over DJ'd music, I think such a goal is silly to pursue in our day and age.
