Although I don't use a laptop to DJ, Nero does have several versions of player programs. You might be using one of the simpler versions like "Nero Media Player." I think that another Nero player program, "NeroMix," has that capability, assuming the data fields your old program an...

Hey, I just downloaded the Nero demo and I can't find a way to list my music library by song -only by artist. Is there a way to list by song title (so I can see how many versions of "Oh lady be good" I have for instance?) Patrik is correct that the Nero program to which we are referring (...

Agreed. But I have noticed improvements in Nero within the 5.x.x series in the two versions I have. They do not abandon what works, but instead maintain the same interface and features with added features that give even more versatility and even made it easier to use: for instance, the integrated CD...

I agree with Greg that Jesse's article is great ( http://www.sloswing.com/dj/ ). It addresses my main beef with laptop DJs: getting sound cards that are capable of pl...

JesseMiner wrote:Phil, thanks for the tip. I'll have to pick up that album as I am digging the samples on the site. That also sounds like an amazing concert. I'm jealous that you got to go to it. I wish it would make it out here to the west coast.
I agree. The samples I heard on the Web whetted my appetite, too.

Sorry to disagree with you but I was taught just the opposite. I always store my LP's upright. That what I thought when I read the original post, but I thought maybe he knew something I didn't. As for CDs, Toon Town's comments mirror my experience and what I have read/heard: quick and steep ...

I see that as similar to my approach with songs about faith and "sin" (sex, drugs, etc.). The music we have to draw from as DJs is rich in songs about both subjects; to avoid them altogether at the risk of offending someone's delicate sensibilities would not only mean missing some great s...

The War is mostly significant for it's spreading factor. Also, while the dance was popular before the war, but it was at it's peek of "popness" during, and agruable because of, the War. "Agruable:" is that some sort of highly-capable, Russian financial agriculture?? Point...

Are people really still playing "Corner Pocket" for birthday jams? I always try to fit the music to the person whose birthday it is: play what they like, not some canned song.

Nonetheless, I do play The Love Dogs' "Too Old to Die Young" more than any other, if it fits.

IMHO Jams should be spontanious. If they happen great if they don't great. What I've noticed is when people try to create jams they feel artificial and forced. Often times they end up falling flat on their face with everyone standing around and nobody dancing. -Kevin Yup - and this always happens w...

The point is not just to play Neo Swing, or that doing so is the ONLY way to make things better. The point is merely to revisit it, realize that it is not all Neo Crap, and play some of it sometimes. Also, again, most of us got into it with Neo Swing. So there is a sentimental thing. I certainly wou...

Yep, fixed; and quickly, too. Probably a routine hangover from having on a sub-page of your website because it was the "/swingdjs" that caused the misdirection.

Again, good job on the website and everything.
