Re: Upping the tempo.
I’m fed up of having to DJ slow - mid range songs, because people don’t want to dance to faster tempos. I’m also fed up of dancers just turning to Balboa when I put on an upper tempo song, even if it screams Swing out. If you look at this as a problem, where the dancers are an obstacle to what you ...

Portable Battery Powered Speakers
I've always been on the lookout for battery powered speakers because I love the idea of being able to take some speakers out of a backpack anywhere I am and be able to dance ... all of the products I've tried just haven't been able to produce exactly what I'm looking for ... until now :) I just open...

I used to burn down ... by default I rip every CD I get into a high quality MP3 and then put the CD into storage ... you don't want to store as WAV files since they take up too much space. Pretty much any software will work. My personal favorite is Easy CD-DA extractor, but YMMV. Basically, my main ...

I will do my first laptop set on Thursday. I got an Audigy 2NX card. The plan is to use WinAmp/internal manufacturer provided soundcard to preview and iTunes through Audigy as output to the house system. I will probably keep trying out different things for awhile. I thought about doing the dual Win...

Actually, they're still selling it through the redhot site:

Just make a $14 donation and they'll send it to you. Just picked up a copy for myself.

I have it set to fade out the last 2 to 3 seconds. That usually has an effective fade out of nothing, i then have it leave about 1 or 2 seconds of silence until the next song, which has a full start with no fade in. It's basically what i'd do if i were DJing by CD. I just like it because it's total...

I don't like Winamps form of moving to the next song, BPM studio has this nice customizable crossfade. It's perfect. Just wondering, Gem, how do you use the cross fade when DJing lindy events? Personally, I prefer not fading between songs and allowing that small gap to be there. It allows people to...

I had a fantastic time. The variety of music was great and it was a treat to have live music at the late night. I can see why some people would have had a problem with Buster's band. I didn't dance that much because the songs were too long, but I did enjoy watching them play. I particularly enjoyed ...

http://www.smsync.com/ SmartSync Pro can automatically be setup to synchronize on a schedule and compare date/time stamps of files and update all copies. In your situation, I think it's the easiest and most economical solution. We use it at work to keep our files synchronized at our colocation site.
