Why would a group of black dancers from Harlem honor a white pilot from Michigan by naming a dance after him just because? I don't like that article, it doesn't really prove anything, or really make a strong claim to anything. Too nebulous for my taste. I prefer the newspaper story as it gives a lit...

yes Kalman, i am I read on some forum that people did some hardcore research trying to find that paper and came up empty. The one thread of hope that keeps the theory alive is since it was a black dancer that "named" the dance, then it is possible that the paper that he was reading was a b...

the problem with having a LocalDJ exchange is that some scenes dont have enough good DJs to fill. Here in LA we have some great DJ's. But if you are billing it as a local DJ event, you might get those shittyer DJ's wanting to play at the event. and there are only so many Sunday afternoon time slots ...

Yeah, good idea not doing it at the event. I wouldnt do that even if you are calm. But now since it has passed, feel free. No need to bring in other DJ's, just do it on your own.

Why don't you just talk to them? There is nothing wrong with having a polite conversation with them. Just make sure that you are respectful, and present your side in a polite, pleasing manner.

Don't underestimate the value of a polite interaction with a promoter, or any person for that matter

Keep Punchin

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere sometime. What was the song that was used for the movie Keep Punchin and who was that band? Was the band who played the song actually the one on stage? or was is dubbed in?
