Mission impossible ---> mission accomplished!

Thanks Sam and Lipi!

PSU (Portland State Uni) library have a scanner that let me scan my Mosaic booklets into a pdf. I'm happy with the quality they've come out to. Defintely a happy ending to this story here :)

Thanks again!

Now this is a great lead - i am in Portland, Oregon. Northwest USA.

There are definitely museums of the size I think you're inferring about here.

I would never have thought of going down this route - thanks!

Yeah this is all good, but the dimensions of the Mosaic booklets are nowhere near those of Classics CDs. I think I need to pursue a more 'industrial' option, like phoning around a few local big hitters and specialists (I mean, real specialists, not Kinko's, etc), and seeing what they can do.

Slim pickings here... the last 3 of these don't even have lyrics which you requested .. take your pick of 'Winter Weather' versions, there's a few out there. Also Fletcher Henderson has Freeze and Melt too on Classics. You may have to have Baby It's Cold Outside in your set after all  Winter W...

Hello flyingcamel et al

What hardware do you use to scan your liner notes in the first place?

Have you scanned in the larger, square booklet notes found in Mosaic sets - if so, what hardware did you use ? Or did you get a 3rd party to do it for you?

Thank you very much. Yes I did do a search first and it returned the 42 pages thread on 'Laptop DJing' I was on Mosaic's site earlier today and didn't even see on there what you say is downloadable. I will go and have another look. I would like to also get the notes and pictures as well though...

Scanning in liner notes

What methods do people use to scan in liner notes? What about when the liner notes are not suitable for A4 or smaller? I have the liner notes for a Mosaic set (Bix, Tram, Jackson 24-36) but because of the size and that it's square, I'm looking for suggestions on getting the pages scanned into digiti...

I like the look of it.

I would really like it if there was one for British bands as well. Harry Parry and all those bands.

OK that sounds like a thumbs down so I'll treat it with a pinch of salt for now.

Thanks!

I agree with having the kind of cynicism you have, hence I didn't get tooo excited about this and buy the laptop off the shelf. I also use a Turtle Beach and definitely have no complaints either. Then again, I'm no ultra-experienced audiophile. I don't necessarily assume I have the best possible set...

Beats Audio

I found out about Beats Audio by wandering into my nearby Best Buy. I'm not quite yet ready to get myself a new laptop but I will want to within the next 6-8 months. Has anyone any greater insight or experience with this ? The staff in the store and the review I found online are giving big thumbs up...

Another personal anecdote: one of the nights I got most compliments on was Duke's birthday earlier this year, when I played only things written by or performed by him. Obviously Duke is a particularly easy person to do this with, given his long career and the huge number of people that have recorde...
