Just received it in the mail yesterday. The rhythm section is powerful and solid like a Royal Hudson and it's hard to believe the original tunes weren't penned by Fletcher Henderson and Don Redman. Kudos to Glenn and all the musicians on a fantastic album!

"Second Balcony Jump" (Al Cooper and the Savoy Sultans or Panama Francis) would probably work, I'm not sure if it has the right number of phrases but it's 12 bar and kind of fits the movements.

Neat. Fats' description of algebra sounds more like predicate calculus, I never saw that until 2nd year university. No wonder he dropped out of high school!

The Andrews Sisters, an unfortunate way to ruin a symphony.

I doubt the girls interest in Buble has much to do with his music. As an aside, Bria Skonberg from Vancouver (51st Eight/ Big Bang Jazz Band and Mighty Aphrodite ) who is popular with swing dancers in the Seattle and Vancouver, BC areas put out a solo album this summer. It's in a similar vein to Bul...

Sounds like a great CD, I really enjoyed the band at CJ and SLE.

Is the disc out now? Any chance it will be available from CD Baby? The price isn't bad but shipping to Canada is pretty steep for a single CD.

I prefer to share the details of the music I'm playing if anyone is interested. Getting more great music out there benefits the community. As a DJ, I consider the music part of my toolbox. My skill as a DJ is awareness of the music and selecting the music to play from my collection, not having more ...

I read the first 2 interviews and lost interest. A few facts, too much emphasis on marketing doublespeak. First dude blames the USB cable for bad audio, celestial misalignment would be a more plausible excuse. Second dude goes on about "2 dimensional DAC" to eliminate jitter. Not sure what...

WOW!

No need for a shipping container although it'll take 7 or 8 bankers boxes.

I'd avoid HP hardware. I've had too many friends encounter issues with HP PCs. I have a 2-1/2 year old Dell Inspiron that I've been happy with. The power brick died after a year and the one of the hinges broke earlier this year. Both were replaced/repaired under warranty promptly, without question. ...

To be honest, hardware capability has far out-paced software demands over the last several years, a faster/different processor probably won't make much difference. Vista is the notable exception because it is a pig that needs a lot of RAM. If you are concerned about performance, the one thing I woul...

Nathan summed it up pretty well. For a novice DJ, I'd say the Winamp/iTunes combination or equivalent would be the best place to start. Once you get used to it, you'll probably figure out what you'd like to do differently to make your job easier and then you can shop for better software. Those of us...

I think it's completely dependent on the audience. Certainly, the extreme fast and slow music is much more challenging. The cutoff tempo mostly on skill. On the fast end, how tired the audience it can play a big role as well but I've been surprised many times how well a fast tune will still go over ...
