Using ?Lindy Hop? instead of ?Swing Dance? distinguishes ?us? from the Ballroom scene, not just the zoot-suit, neo-swing twits. Ok, you like to call people Twits...but most of the people out today dancing started as a Twit.... I was one. LOL I actually started dancing because my friends had a band,...

Re: Austin site

I have to say, though, your music divisions are a little wacked. I'm not sure about your division between "mainstream swing" and "groove swing". Hey Ron I actually agree with you on this. I find it funny that he has OP in "main stream" and Gene in "Groove" wh...

Another person you might try is Big Joe Turner. The album Boss of the Blues [1956] is great. It also features Pete Johnson on piano.

That's why I avoid using the Swedish (Herrang) term "Blues dancing:" because of the very confusion that results from it. Why add to the ambiguity?
I just call it the slow grind.

Yeah, you tell 'em. Those PC'ers probably dance Savoy-style to non-authentic, so-called-"groove" swing music, too. Hollywood-style and Macs forever!!!

Just to dig on the mac folks; Besides the cost, what convinced me to go PC for the laptop is that my girlfriend's home mac won't burn CDs anymore, her work mac's hard drive just crashed after less than two years and she has so many problems with her mac notebook that -as we speak- she is desperatel...

I only play the Charlie Christian version. Interesting note their is dispute over who actually wrote the song. While it credits Goodman/Hampton, it's believed that Christian is the true author. Mary Lou Williams said that when she first heard Christian he was jamming a bunch of stuff that later beco...

Just make sure that you've disabled the 1-click purchasing so that you don't get too addicted. ;) No shit, it's way to easy. I found some Johnny Hodges stuff that I wanted for a while but never found a good price on the disc. Thankfully I had to finish cooking dinner so I didn't buy anything. Reall...

Got to say I like the AAc compression it's only slightly larger than an 128 mp3 but as clear as a CD. Granted this is based off of only doing a couple of songs from one album. I'll be doing a more extensive test when I get the chance. As for the music store, it's a good start. There is a lot of stuf...
