1. No
2. Software Engineer

However the paid gigs do help with CD purchases (but nowhere near what I've invested in DJ hardware and CDs)

Hmmm.... I use PCDJ Red too with the MP3+ card, but am searching in vain for EQ adjustable settings in software. I bought the MP3+ to cut DOWN on the amount of equipment and number of AC jacks needed for a gig. I found the monitor/main volume keyboard shortcuts for PCDJ Red- that seems to work well ...

Recommendations for Bob Crosby?

I've been recording and going through some of the Sirius Swing music (Dishnetwork) and I've heard a few Bob Crosby songs I like. However I've downloaded a few from Napster2.0 and the quality is about right on the bleeding edge of what I'd play for dancers. Any recommendations of good remastered Bob ...

Well, I just went ahead and bought the MP3+ to see if it would work. It does (YES!) ... BUT... Do you MP3+ owners use the headphones jack for your master out so that you can use the volume dial, or do you use "Line Out" - in which case you have to use the mouse on a software slider or what...

My old laptop had problems with usb bus power. Most newer machines (especially those with USB 2.0) will have no problems powering your bus powered peripherals. Hmm... My laptop (Dell Lattitude) only has one 1.1 USB port and I've been compensating by adding a PCCard (PCMCIA) 2 port USB2.0 hub. I'm w...

Yet another endorsement for the Fender Passport 250. We have 3 units here in Denver/Boulder and they get used a lot (thinking about getting a unit myself). I dunno about shipping though. They are pretty heavy, and oddly shaped. Has anyone here actually travelled with the 250? Shipping with USPS, Fed...

Apple 40 GB iPod M9268LL/A - $399.00 Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 40 GB MP3 Player - $244.14 Why should I spend an extra $150 just to get an iPod. The Nomad has had some great reviews. iRiver HP-140 (40GB ...

Thanks guys for the 24 vs 16bit answer. I've been wondering about that for a long time. For my purposes, a 16bit card should work just fine. I have an Extigy now, but have been shopping for smaller external cards that don't require a power source - it's such a pain to plug everything in. I finally g...

Basically, unless you have software/harware that is going to do some interpolation, you're not going to get any benefit because of our audio sources (and even then that's dubious since you're filling in information that's not really there). CDs, are sampled as 16-bit, 44.1 kHz PCM audio. If you pla...

Been using a mp3+ for a while, it's the perfect little addition to a laptop DJ set up. Good deal on the rebates and such. Unless you have a reason to have even more outputs, this is definitely my recommendation for secondary sound. I notice that the mp3+ is a "16bit" sound card whereas ot...

This looks kind of interesting - hard to tell if one of the two "Lester Leaps In" has vocals, but Joe Williams is on the credits. Strangely enough, I just listened to that disc for the first time on Monday. It's really good. Strangely enough, I just played "Jumping With Symphony Sid&...

Yes, I bought the album then converted it mp3 for my own use. I'm not set up to legally distribute music, but it appears Amazon has a few copies in stock, or you could try your local music store. (Yes, I'm being a bit sarcastic to make a point.) That is THE most perfect answer for that question. Ku...

I have been using PCDJ Blue and now they have just announced new versions of PCDJ Blue VRM and PCDJ Red VRM. Anyone made the jump to try these yet? I downloaded the Blue VRM demo and was excited about some of the changes (Like more data on the playlist and easier to use groups) but was disappointed...

FWIW, Allmusic actually has a definition of "sweet" bands. Click the "styles" radio button and search for "sweet". It does mention Lombardo specifically... From that page: When swing became popular and the big-band craze first landed in the '30s, not every American — no...

Just found www.musicplasma.com . Not a real music resource, just a colorful way to link artists and see influences and mentors. Kalman Are there instructions for this thing besides the "Help" window? I would be interested in knowing the criteria for link distance, halo size etc. Very cool...
