I'm still sticking to my guns that this could be the greatest night - and greatest weekend - of dancing to live music for dancers of our generation. And for anyone who likes Basie, his spirit will be everywhere all weekend ...

Also, what I love about it is if you bring your own discman, you can listen to the used cds (and listen while you're still looking; it's not like you have to walk to ...

Hey kitkat. If you're interested, the product # for The Complete Decca Recordings is D2170348 (I found it by searching "Basie" at www.bmgmusicservice.com and clicking on more selections when his name comes up, it appears there.)

I can't isolate the DJs expenses that way. (Interesting you can't, 'cuz that's exactly what I do when I create excel spreadsheets of an event I'm organizing. I have my projected expenses, projected price, and projected attendance at said price. I can very easily isolate any budget line, change that...

Three cheers for Chiaroscuro! Kalman, I totally dig the song Doo Wah Doo on that Whorehouse cd with Ralph Sutton (also on the Chiaroscuro label), and I second Nate Dogg's Hootie! recommendation, which, incidentally, has some cool solos by drummer extraordinaire Jackie Williams who many of you have s...
