This venue (that mainstem is referring to) has had a dj battle actually...it is one of the ways that they got some of the new dj's out of the woodwork. That was a while ago...tastes are always changing so perhaps another round of battles would be a good way to liven up the dj rotation again and find...

No that's not it. Besides there are two DJs that have lost complete contact with the crowd and still get full nights despite peoepl being very vocal about not liking their music. Yeah, I know what you mean Kevin...there are a couple of new dj's (and a couple of older ones including you) that I thin...

i actually think that happened to me once...

You accidentally play the wrong track...

and it fills the dance floor!!! I have had this happen so many times over the years. I have had a track cued up and maybe it was the wrong number or the cd player brought it back to track one for some reason, whatever, but when I frantically realize that the track I intended to play isn't playing, I...

If David's obsession with Brazilian soccer is anything like his tastes in music, then I am guessing he would be all over that.

David...you should try to hook up with my Seanie Mo sometime...he was a full time house/hip hop dj in Philly for years and became pretty well known back in the day as a dj. Back when raves were called "wherehouse parties" still. He is pretty darn talented with that stuff and even produces ...

I think it is an interesting idea...I don't see what the big deal is about a minute of time being spent on it. I think it would depend on the crowd. It may work better for beginners though and it sounds like it is working for Harrison's crowd. I wouldn't try that djing at Memories or LindyGroove...i...

My theme song is Watch the Birdie  ha ha ha Actually, I guess my favorite song at the time would be my theme song...especially one that other dj's don't play very much. It tends to change though, so I am not sure if that is actually a theme song, or just my current favorite song that I dj a lot...

"if DJing late nights after hours of dancing, I mix in more low energy and lower tempos. " Some of the best moments at late nights, have been really high energy. I used to think that late nights=slower tempo songs but sometimes I think that actually can kill the energy. Man, the late night...

Segue in C from the Frankie Manning compilation is over 8 minutes...I have used that a couple of times, but I must admit, it allowed to go pee AND get a drink at the bar AND say hi to my friends

And Julius, no heels for you, we don't want to relive the jam circle crash at lindy summit.

Actually, when Julius played Massachusetts, everyone was dancing so no matter how many times it has been played, it seemed to still fill the floor. And it brought back some nostalgia for us old schoolers;-)

Oh yeah, and although I haven't heard her dj in a while, Jenn S is an awesome femail dj too.

Oh yeah, and we should have the bill read "Giselle and Tonya and their male dj bitch Reuben" It would be rude to not list Reuben's name!!
