Swing Favourites - self explanatory - a whole bunch of tracks I love. Most of which I love dancing to.

Emusic has redesigned their site but didn't do anything about its useless search function. Too bad... I've finally had a dialogue with one of their support guys (on Twitter) about the search. After getting me to describe what I thought was wrong with it, which I did (at length), I managed to get th...

Nice find!

They're also on the Amazon UK at around the £27 mark, which is a pretty good price for a 14 disc set.

Except for the Louis set, which is priced at £61. A little odd...

My latest favourite is Clarence Williams' Mister, Will You Serenade. I absolutely adore this track. I got it from Selected Favourites Vol. 4 courtesy of eMusic, but ironically, the nicest sounding recording I've found was on jazz-on-line.com (go figure) See (or listen) here. There's also a nice vers...

Ella's St Louis Blues

This one

One of my favourite versions of this song.

My copy is from In The Groove - and has the same irritating voice-over at the end. Is there a copy available anywhere without that voiceover?

There's Fission- which claims to give you 'lossless' mp3 editing - I have it, and it's pretty good for the basic stuff.

For more sophisticated edits, I use Amadeus Pro.

There was someone DJing from vinyl at the Snowball last Christmas. Awesome sets too. I know a couple of people who still DJ exclusively from CDs. Myself - I used to tote around a bunch of CDs as a backup, or if I'm going somewhere I didn't feel comfortable taking the laptop around - but I've not don...
