That brief process you described is so much more difficult than insert CD, forward to track number, play. It would throw off most people's timing. They could do it, but it would throw them off. The neutral way was how I was trained to do it at the Explorer Program for Specs Howard School of the Bro...

Strayhorn also wrote some musicals before Ellington, as I recall. Could he have pursued that any further, to be mentioned with Porter, Rodgers, Hart, Hammerstein, Adler, Ross, Lerner, Loewe, and Wilson? That would have led to movie adaptations, and made him that much more memorable to the American p...

Anyone else notice that in this clip, Gene Krupa 'disappears'? He is right next to the trumpets as the camera moves back. Then the next shot is a close up of the trumpets and trombones and Krupa's not there. I guess it made for a more artistic shot to remove him. He wasn't removed. Krupa is offstag...

Re: Help, I am getting bored with my music, what should I do
Seriously, I haven't gone on a total music geek out in at least two years. I am getting burnt out with the stuff I have, any suggestions before I burn up in the atmosphere? So glad to hear you say that. Self contentment with your collection is the worst thing that can happen to a DJ. Like that sayi...
