I think some of this could be mitigated if DJs dropped by every once in a while and check out each other's sets (as opposed to showing up only for your set). And if one doesn't or is unable to, at least make an effort to play some unique songs that people rarely play. Lindy Hopper's Delight is not o...

Seagate drives are usually pretty good, but in a certain date range and from a specific factory have serious problems (I believe it was tracked down to a certain floor cleaner they were using that ended up leaving some kind of film or something on everything). So watch out for refurbished drives. La...

Re: How to get glue off a CD
I'm a big fan of peanut butter + a little elbow grease- the poor man's goo gone.
And of course, you have to clean off the peanut butter once you're done.

Fredo, Agreed with most of your points in your post, but this one i have to disagree with: Besides, how many of the total people who come to a dance are actually there for the first 5-10 songs anyway? so this is all just conjecture. It establishes the momentum for the evening. When you get those ini...

Although I respect and understand where you are coming from, why is it so absolutely necessary to force people to accept faster music throughout an entire night of dancing? Maybe (just maybe) most people prefer more moderate tempos for legitimate reasons and maybe (just maybe) that preference is no...

Anyone heard of Banu Gibson?
I stumbled upon this hot jazz artist based out of michigan the other day. Her band is rich with musicality and tight. She's also going to Atlanta the weekend after ATLX and I'm thinking about going to see her. Anyone else hear about her/booked her? One of her albums: Love is Good for Anything that A...

I notice audio artifacts too when I play mp3PRO codec files. Sounds fine when I play high bitrate LAME though. BTW, I think the company has suspended its anticipated new release indefinitely.... so um... yeah. i've been hoping for it to play different formats such as APE, OGG, and VGF, but I don't t...
