Tangent here: I went down to Buds on Tuesday and spent about 45 minutes talking to Bud. Turns out he grew up in New York and saw many bands at the Savoy and on 52nd Street. I think the facts are that different event promoters want different types of music and dance representing their events. They hire the people they feel can best represent their vision.

Events will inturn have different aspects of the dance to focus on to make them sell themselves.
