Okay, I think I'm done identifying answered threads. Now you can go in and easily see which ones are left to tackle. Have fun!

Interesting side note: Didn't actually count, but I think "Ridin' and Jivin' by Earl Hines is the most asked about song.

Since the actual song title was never mentioned, and the AMG link is dead, anyone want to complete this one?

No problem, thanks for the back end work Jesse... and you might have noticed I ripped off some of your text for the note above, haha. Thanks Lorenzo, will get that moved over soon. I've moved everything over that was obvious from the thread titles, but there are sure to be others, so if anyone notic...

Trying to identify a song? Here's the place!

Post your song ID questions here and someone is sure to have an answer for you. Besides, it's kind of a game for us music nerds. Be sure to offer up as many clues as you can, or better yet include a link to a YouTube video or sound file. Once you have an answer, please rename your thread subject as ...

Interestingly enough a "Song Id" folder was discussed amongst the moderators back in '07. We all thought it was a good idea, but it never got created. I've brought it back up.

it's been very interesting to me seeking the records these folks made under pseudonyms. Ellington's "Rockin in Rhythm" on Perfect records as The Louisiana Rhythmakers, as well as two very wonderful takes of "St. James' Infirmary" as The Ten Black Berries. Those aren't recordings...

Could be the onboard audio chips drivers are screwy. Try reloading them/making sure they are up to date. If that doesn't work your onboard audio chip is most likely loose or has gone bad. Try playing via a USB sound card. Just grab one at Best Buy... if it doesn't solve your problem, easy to return....

Don't worry, one day there will come a time when you can name off all these song by ear. These are all essentially standards to many a swing DJ... especially when it comes to contest music.

I've used one (the older model) for years, on a variety of systems, from concert venues to the multitude of dreaded setups described above and everything in between, without a single issue. I've also seen plenty of other DJs using the exact same device. I don't need to see a bunch of charts and grap...

Piece. Of. Junk. I've got oscilloscope shots somewhere, if you want me to post 'em. For a Swing DJ it's perfectly fine. We all know people dancing at the local VFW to underpowered speakers that are way to small for the room anyway aren't going to hear the difference between a cheap USB soundcard an...

Very few modern laptops have any kind of card slots whatsoever. So does this mean that DJs looking for new laptops have to look harder and/or pay extra to have good sound output? All you need is one of these and you'll be fine: http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/sound-cards/audio-advantage-micro-i...
