Re: Native Instrument Audio 2 sound card now works Iphone/Ip

Can that be addressed via software/drivers? or is it a hardware thing?

Re: Native Instrument Audio 2 sound card now works Iphone/Ip

I wish they had kept the 1/4" jacks. Much better mechanical contact, and using an adapter for 1/8" is still robust whereas the other way is fussy.

Wasn't the previous version already called Traktor Audio 2? I believe this one is the mk2.

Re: OT - I need a laptop. $300.00 pricer range

I'm not a huge fan of extended warranties, BUT some places actually reimburse the cost of the warranty (for store credit) if you didn't use it during the allotted time, which can be quite worthwhile actually so it's worth asking about.

Re: Portable PA systems

Anyone here have experience with the new Yorkville Parasource range of speakers? I didn't get a chance to hear them, but the sales rep guy was telling me they're a step up from the Elite range (I've used the Elite E10p once before and liked it, perhaps more than the QSC K10, but I never compared sid...

Re: OT - I need a laptop. $300.00 pricer range

Just about anything will do really. You should be able to get a decent 14-15" last-gen machine in that price range, maybe even a touch screen on a refurb. Look for a minimum of 4gb ram. Your range of options may not be the greatest as there are no good sales this time of year, so just keep an e...

Re: Portable PA systems

Our regular venue has been growing and my little 300W system just isn't cutting it anymore. We're pushing into distortion these days just to be audible. I'm asking the other scene organizers about investing some money into better speakers (the old one was entirely out of my own pocket), and their re...

Re: What was your worst djing experience?

Having a fully charged backup player is essential. A couple weeks ago after making announcements, JRiver froze on me when I tried to start my set back up. Scrambling to reboot, I dug into my bag of tricks and grabbed my backup mp3 player... only to discover the battery was dead! Thankfully, I had m...

Re: External Sound Cards for Laptop DJing

I was looking for something to replace my Traktor2 which was starting to die, and wound up going with an Echo Audio Echo2 (who names their product the same as their company?). I'm really liking it so far. Two inputs, four channel out (two are balanced TRS, the other two are a headphone jack). The al...

Re: How to be a better Swing DJ

I am a bit of a compulsive collector, so it's difficult for me to delete anything... but I will usually add notes to the comment field or delete the bpm of a bad song.

Re: Movie review - Swing Kids

I didn't get into swing until 2002, so (thankfully?) missed most of the revival phase. I miss some of that cheesiness, though neo-swing is still a bit of a guilty pleasure
