Birthday coming up, and I figure I owe myself another Mosaic set. In addition to the Hines set, which is on its way to me at the moment... so far I'm pondering Coleman Hawkins, Lunceford, Goodman, and Armstrong. Purely from a DJing perspective - does any of these particularly shine out over the othe...

This could be way off... but I can't shake the feeling that I've seen the original, and that it's from either an old cartoon or a short. Can't for the life of me remember what it was though...

#1 is Six Appeal - is that the Campus 5 version?
#2 is A Viper's Moan - sounds like Mora's Modern Rhythmists.

Lol. Ok, well, I guess this is just something we disagree on but... First of all, how could it strip a style of music of any potential swing dancing just by putting a modern club beat on it? The answer's in the question here - it does so by removing the original rhythms which made the music what it...

Been looking at the IOS6 details... and it looks like we're in luck on the previewing front... IOS6 will have "multi-route audio", and it looks like that is what it sounds like. Wonder if it's finally time to buy myself an iPad... http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2012/06/will-ios6-bring-stereo...

I'm in a similar position - I've wanted a touch-screen DJing setup since I first saw Minority Report ;) - but the iPad has two main disadvantages for me - previewing (I'm holding out for a better solution than using a splitter), and software - Djay is (to me) the best of a bad bunch. I've been spoil...

A lot of those tunes are remixes, but Parov Stelar, and a host of other groups and artists (alot of them from France) are doing original things. But let's face it - however clever and original one might find them (and I confess, in the selection you put together, nothing stands out to me in that se...

For headset mics, a straw poll of a number of instructors is they favor something without a body pack over better sound quality so we'll be purchasing the Samson Airline 77's. The trade-off is the mics sound a bit tinny and tend to be prone to feedback. We want to keep the volunteer instructors hap...

Toon Town Dave wrote:I was initially keen on the Mackie SRM 450/350 v2's but after giving them a listen a couple weeks ago, I really don't think they hold a candle to the originals.
Sadly true - we have a couple of v1s, and one v2 - and put side by side, the v2 sounds defective. Best avoided.

Considering that there's a whole mess of syncopations being put in the whole way through the track, I'd say that's a very odd conclusion for him to draw....

I've recently been stalked by the emusic people twitter - public messages and DMs asking me what my specific problems with their site are. Because they want to help me. I don't have the patience to explain why their new site is so slow to load and annoying to navigate. Someone needs to tell them th...
