Or try having a scene that is largely of East Coasters. They are all wanting the crappy guitar driven neo-swing. I got like 20 requests for neo-swing on Tuesday night! They said that they wanted "Big Band music and something fast" (this is after I played Traffic Jam), and I would have to ...

I have found with the CDs I have of theirs that it's about 50/50. 50% of it is really REALLY awesome, while the other 50% is so-so. This is the way it is with all the CDs of theirs I own, but each one is worth it for the awesome stuff, no doubt.

Man, where to begin. Top of the list is most definitely Sidney Bechet and Eddie Condon. There's so much good stuff though it can be hard to really choose.

Jazz Club History Sites?

I'm just looking for some sites with the history about jazz clubs in the early 20th century. Anyone know of any?

... Duke and His Small Groups Vol. 2 Both very excellent cds and I highly recommend them to anyone. From the previews, the tracks on this sound much slower and more quiet, perhaps even a bit sweet. Is that the case? The reason I ask, is that I just got the first set, and it's already one of my favo...

That's good, I have that and really enjoy it. The JSP box set is also really good.

I'VE BEGUN DOING IT AND I CAN'T STOP. HELP ME. all you need is hard swinging music and to dance to the RHYTHM section. Hear all the rhythms in your head that have been so constrained by trying to hit everything in a song you have heard 100 times. When you dance to the rhythm, you go beyond dancing ...

If you don't want it I'll buy it off of you. I've been wanting it for a long time, and the reason the sound quality isn't up to par is because they're REALLY old recordings.

It's true, Condon almost never took a solo, though I do have one song where he has taken a solo. If you're interested in it please contact me, it's not a very long one, but it's there, the song is pretty much all solos, but it's a great song.
