I use the 'tap' widget bpm meter in my dashboard and just tap out on the space bar, then click on the itunes logo to insert it into the track info. I couldn't figure out the BPM inspector either.

In response to each of you.... As my own Lindy skills have expanded, I've moved from the neo-swing (much of which I still enjoy, I have to say) to more mellow tunes that you can do nice, smooth Lindy to. What is 'smooth Lindy'? maybe you're asking about the music for smooth lindy, or being sarcastic...

I recently went back through my CD collection and found that on a lot of CD's I'd only imported 1 or 2 songs to my computer, thinking the rest weren't right for dancing. But my swing dancing has diversified A LOT in the last few years, and now I WANT some of those songs I previously rejected, becaus...

I just bought this one. The songs don't always have lyrics, but the tom-toms plus grindy trombone = very naughty :)

Well, what do you call him? Horny? While we're on the subject of trombone players, I'll put in a shameless plug for a FANTASTIC female trombonist in Paris who I know because she comes from good old Cbus, Ohio. She makes trombone seem a lot hotter! (not usually very danceable, but awesome nonetheless...

ah that's just because the names aren't famous - people rarely care about the trombonists. :( bugger all

Thanks for the input, all.

I am actually going to Montpellier, France for a temporary job and I'm starting to feel my budget tightening already, so I'm going to put off this investment for a bit and hopefully bum some old speakers off a friend for the time being.

I just thought of another way to do it- If you don't want to figure out a music editing program, you can add seconds (up to 5 at a time) to the end of a track by burning it to a CD. Check your preferences and set how many seconds you want between tracks- that time will be added to the end of each tr...

I noticed that with the iTunes software (on a pc), after a song has played, it will play the next song. Is there a way to configure it to play a song and then stop ? Kind of like the "auto-stop" on a CD player ? Some of my songs don't have a great deal of silence at the end. It's too bad ...

Ug- that sony thing is $2000!!

suck.

I need me a sugar daddy :D

My sister is a jazz/brazilian singer and I've been wanting to make some nice live recordings of her groups, but I guess I'll have to save up a little! Or just embrace the transient nature of live performance....

Sonic Impact's Fold Flat Speakers have worked for me: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009W44A/ref=pd_sbs_e_3/102-9192831-5956157?v=glance&s=electronics At Y6A I unfolded them after a dance in a subway station and we had a little impromptu dance then and there. How flat do they ...

Small speakers for laptop DJing

I am loving my brand new MacBook (my first laptop!) and all its fantastic features. You should all get one :) (if you buy before Sept 16th and have an old student ID you can get $179 off any iPod- I'm using that as my preview device since you can't preview in itunes) Now I want to get some speakers....

I bought a few songs of iTunes for a dance on Friday and they went over pretty well- I played Idlewild Blue and PJ & Rooster. They both have a heavy beat to them and they made for some nice funky lindy. I just saw the film last night, and I was kind of disappointed, especially by the dance scene...
