That's "Jeep Jockey Jump", the classic swing tune made famous by Glenn Miller. It's been a popular choice for choreographed swing performances for years. The version here is a modern recording by The Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra.

Are you sure it's the Harlem Hamfats? Sound quality seems much too good to be from the 30s.
Yep - it's on the CD "Harlem Hamfats Vol. 2 1936-1937".

Dixie by Dorsey/Dorseyland Dance Parade , from 1949, contains some nice, bright remakes of Dixieland classics, including Jazz Me Blues, Struttin' with Some Barbeque, Charley My Boy, Johnson Rag & Clap Hands, Here Comes Charley. Also, there's a live, brassy version of "Perfidia (Tonight)&qu...

For a long time, folks around here have typically started out learning 6-count East Coast Swing instead of jumping right into Lindy Hop. Although it varies a bit with different teachers, they're fed a steady diet of jump blues, some rockabilly, early rock 'n' roll, and (even now ) neo-swing in...

Damn, you're right - , it IS live. You can see the band playing in the background, from about 0:27 to 0:32.
And, yes, it's "I Can't Get Started" - thanks. I just couldn't place the song in my head..

No, that's the X-Fi card.
The Xmod connects to a USB port. I'm curious what people think of the XMod too.

It is indeed "Let 'Er Go", by Fletcher Henderson. I only knew of Artie Shaw's instrumental version - didn't even know the song had lyrics.
But you're right, the lyrics are different than in the Larry Clinton version, which I assume is the original.

Curious! One leaves the Swing era recordings on the side and plays recordings from another era for Swing dancers and suddenly they require editing so that people can dance to them.
