Very funny song though.

Yakov, the end is the best part of the song
I like to play it at late night dances. You will probably hear it from me Friday Night actually...

I can't speak for the law in the US, but in Canada, you pay a levy on blank CDs, harddrives and other blank media, whose revenue supposedly goes to the Canadian Private Copying Collective who distributes royalties to musicians with copyrights in Canada. Hence, copies for personal use are permitted,...

You may see the ass as half naked, I see it as half clothed. You must be a pessimist.. 8)

It is true that I could have used a different image for the link, but then again why would I??

This is an interesting side note (well, to me it is), but in looking at the PCDJ site they have a service that is available to DJ's that actually gets you promo copy songs for playing at clubs and such. The Record Pool http://www.therecordpool.com/images/rpgirl.jpg Apparently you get protected WMA's...

According to ASCAP it is the venue that is responsible for the license, not the DJ.

Assuming you have DJ software that will support both soundcards you will be able to use the Indigo for your main output and use the internal/headphones for monitor. I know Charlie in St.Louis has the basic Indigo card. And that is where i got my knowledge. I use the Sound Blaster MP3 external box. I...

The funniest, inappropriate, neo swing song I've heard was:

There are several Cab Calloway songs which I think are great songs but are probably not appropriate for play at a dance. "A Strictly Cullud Affair" being one of them. I have no clue as to the popularity of that song when it came out, but I mostly think that song is 'ironic' because unfortu...

Shoot, Kalman, I have to carry a couple of flashlights cuz I'm old and I can't read in the dark anymore and I am too vain to bring my reading glasses to dances. I think that would just ruin my image. (as if I had one)

I used to feel it was good to announce at least who the song is by. More for education than anything. We have a lot of young kids who don't venture up to the booth to talk to the DJ and ask questions. And know squat about the music. I did DJ one night with a wireless, boom mike and it felt very comf...

I even like to let one of the local Dj's use my book to Dj from. I am always interested what he can find that I might overlook because of my own bad habits. I have asked him several times "Is that one of mine?"

Is it a DJ faux paux to fade a song in when it is hot and then fade it out later. Instead of having to dance thru the intro. i.e. bring the song in just near the end of a phrase. I know that would require some pre-planning to have the songs queued or better yet, have then editted on a CD ready to go...

Man, why don't you yell at Nate Dogg? He said it, not me. Kalman Naw, man, I am just trying to figure out a hook for Dallas to attract people. We got no musical heritage (except Deep Ellum Blues history), we got very few really good dancers, and we're a bunch of snobs. But what we do got is a BIG A...
