I'd love to hear musicians trying this the other way around - trying to recreate swing rhythms and a swing feel with modern instruments and a modern sound (although I have no idea what this would sound like, or if it could actually be done...) - but I've yet to hear anything like that. Yes, I would...

Re: worst gig ever
Wait, what? Tell us more! This is the first time I hear of online gigs. Was this for dancers or a radio show? In either case, I'm curious (and, uh, interested to have your job). :o) I did a virtual DJ gig earlier this year. I was in Zürich Switzerland while online spinning for a dance crowd in Barc...

I'm using djay since several months as my main Swing DJ software on my MacBook Pro. It's quite okay. It would be great, if you could prelisten songs directly in the library (with right click/secondary...

Check out The Rosenberg Trio. They are three cousins from Holland.
In my opinion, this is one of the best contemporary gypsy swing combos out there right now. Stochelo Rosenberg is an amazing lead guitarist!

When I started DJ'ing in 2006 I used CDs. A few months later in the same year I changed to DJ'ing with my laptop and never went back. At the beginning of digitally DJ'ing I bought everything on CDs, ripped them and kept them as a backup. Nowadays, I'm purchasing more than 90% of the music as downloa...
