"Grand Central" by the Nagel Heyer Allstars. That song rocks.

The Bix Centennial All-Stars' disc sounds pretty sweet, especially "Borneo." I first got turned onto this group listening to KJAZZ down here in Long Beach. I think I'm gonna get it.

Anyone heard this group?

If you have yet to bail on eMusic, go download the version by Hot Club USA. It's really mellow. Django's version is great too.

I'll have to check them out again when I'm back home in SF for winter break.

I found one of their CDs on gemm.com one time (it came from a dealer called weird_harolds or weirdharolds or something like that - they have a web site somewhere out there, but I don't remember them regularly stocking any TH5/7). They used to be on the site of some comp...

They have four. Three are under the names Titan Hot Five or Titan Hot Seven, and one is something like Jeff Barnhardt and Bob Draga with the Titan Hot Five (I think all this info is correct).

Hmm...I'm trying to think if I've ever actually played it, haha. I think I played it one time, and a few people danced balboa (it was a really small venue).

By the way, I see that you're from Florida. Out of curiosity, do you DJ in Tampa/St. Pete on Sundays and/or Wednesdays, by any chance?

It's worth the $5 just for the song "Daybreak Express" (on the 5th disc) if you ask me.

Don't forget about "Uptown Downbeat" by Ellington.

Though it's not from Venuti and Lang's "classic" 20s period, I like "Fiddlesticks" from 1933. Bummer that it's not on that set though. It's a rad song.
