Great current French jazz combo is a group named Honeysuckle Rose. Some stuff in English some in French and some instrumentals. Highly recommended. I use their stuff a lot. You can get them from Swedish site hepcat http://www.hepcat.se/product_info.php?products_id=526&osCsid=075880491eefa6b32a12...

For some danceable covers albums with a bit of style and panache try these two Sydney based Australian artists. I use some of their stuff in my sets. Frank Bennett has some jazz arrangements of classic songs check out (unfortunately no samples on the listings) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000...

Jeff,
I have been trying Media Center and like it. Only one issue I haven't resolved - how to set start and end times on an individual track (for editing out intros/outros) - any ideas?

Name of music for Steven's jazz routine SONH 2005

Anyone know the name of the music plus artist for the song Steven Mitchell used for his jazz routine for SONH 2005. It was a gospel song.

Indian Swing Music

Bizzare request I know. Our performance group is performing at a Indian (the country) multicultural festival in a few weeks. I thought it might be fun to dance to some Indian swing music (if such exists) in the tradition of Bollywood. Does anyone know of any examples?

There is a new release (July 2005) of his recordings he made in 1958. Great sound and new arrangements of some of his classics. Includes the version of Cherokee that Mike mentions.

Brian,
Thanks for the suggestion. I got myself a Xitel Ground Loop Isolator and it fixed the noise problems I was having with my laptop. Recommended.

One of my local CD shops has some of their classical stuff. They imported it as a one-off special import. I have them investigating whether I can order in some of their jazz stuff. For us in Australia the shipping costs are more than the price of the box sets for the ones on eBay. Here is a link to ...
