In an effort to be more civil and diplomatic I am going to comment on this thread and hopefully put an end to it. It is possible that Matthew's definition of classic swing and groove music differs from mine and the majority of the djs on this board. It is also possible that he has a legitimate probl...

Yep, I've deleted this post because my friend said that I sound like Natch Version 1.0, Rayned said I was whining, and Jesse wants us to be polite.

Yep, I thought that I saw something happened like a head-butt, but I wasn't sure. Still, I was dying laughing with the way she answered you. You dressed up like a westie that night and I had no idea you were a lindyhopper. I had to watch you dance a little and it was fun watching the expression on y...

Yes, the Brass band was cool, but the whole event kicked arse. It was nice meeting you Brenda. I think that I did somewhat get to meet Ryan Swifty. This guy asked Gretchen (Conn. girl) to dance and she said: "are you serious?" I was dying of laughter because the song was kinda fast, but Ry...

Well Mathew, The first time Frankie Manning came down here in Tampa to teach in recent years was back in 1999. It was at the Gulf Port Casino and I remembered that night well because Frankie yelled at me for playing Bill Elliot's Shim Sham song in stead of "Tuxedo Junction" by Erskine Hawk...

I can't believe Mathew is dissing Glenn "F*cking" Miller as someone of you call him. I personally like Glenn Miller, however I don't like it when people request "In The Mood" when ever I djed. Mathew, I'm pretty sure that You have heard me played his stuff before. Just remind me ...

I'm glad to see that some of you guys are spinning Lucky Millinder. He recorded lots of great stuff. You guys ought to try to play other tracks from those cds mentioned. What more do you really need? I have over 30 tracks by him that you can spin for dancers. Heck, that is a lot better than I can sa...

I guess that I am going to have to do this on Manu's behalf. Manu "Lazy ass" Smith 1. Ella Fitzgerald and her Famous Orchestra "The Radio Years" - Break 'Em Down 2. Erroll Garner - That's My Kick/Gemeni - Autumn Leaves 3. Eddie Condon and his Orchestra (1933 - 1940) - Madame Dyna...

Rueben wasn't the only one that played Jimmie Lunceford. I heard Andy, Jesse and myself aslo played his music. I thought almost everyone love Jimmie Lunceford. Brenda, I am sorry that we didn't get a chance to meet each other. Perhaps, we will at another event. What events are you planning on attend...

Unfortunately, I wasn't there on Sunday to hear the great live music and the wonderful djing. However, as for Saturday night, I am going to have to disagree with Mike on that one. The music that night was nothing like any exchanges that I have ever attended. Usually, the music at most exchanges is m...

The event was amazing. I had a fabulous time dancing in tight spaces. BGirls ruled and Hellzapoppin' was memorable. I love all of the music that was played at the dance competitions. I djed there Saturday night for about an hour before the battle began. Originally, I didn't like the idea of having e...
