YES! Vintage instruments have a very different sound from modern instruments. They have different bore sizes and bell sizes, they have different style mouthpieces, and they sound very different from what is made today. If you really want to hear some bad bad bad msuic, check out the recording "Basie and Bing". Unbelievably bad recordings of the Basie band with Bing Crosby playing things like: "Put Your Hand in the Hand" and "Little Green apples" Amazing!

Radio stations playing jazz, swing, ragtime, etc.

Hi all-

Just wondering if you could pass along the call letters or websites of any radio stations in your town that play jazz, swing, ragtime, etc. Just trying to get some airplay for our new CD, and I'd appreciate the help.

The bass man in my band is from Chicago, and used to be Oscar's music director.... just for you're info. His name is Ernest McCarty and he is probably on some of those tracks. Playing piano or bass.
