I remember talking to Kyle Smith some time ago and his attitude at the time was to keep a new track to himself for say 6 months (to get some DJ mileage out of it) and then let others know what it is. I don't really have a problem with people having secret tracks. It makes the chase more thrilling!!!...

Okay. I spoke to Fatima a couple of days ago. She said it was one of her secret tracks, so wouldn't divulge the name or band. She did say she found it on vinyl, so there could be a strong chance it has never been released on CD.
Perhaps one day, she'll give up her secret, till then keep hunting!!!!

Those cheeky sods at Amazon have just upped the price of all those Classics albums from £3.99 to £4.99.
It's only a quid, but I had about 10 waiting in a wish list. Bah!!!

I'm a bit mystified by this 12 credits/album that some of you are seeing. If I browse for instance, for a Skeets Tolbert album... http://www.emusic.com/album/Skeets-Tolbert-Skeets-Tolbert-1931-1940-MP3-Download/11444100.html ...it says to me 20 credits, which is 1 credit/track. On that basis the alb...

I can hear a lot of Woody Hermans style, as in "At The Woodchoppers Ball" (Proper Records box set). I've had a bit of a search so far but not turned up the track yet.

Took a listen to those track snippets on Allmusic and while there appears to be some cracking music there, it does make me wonder whether it would be possible, using the original masters, to re-release the albums with some/all of the reverb/echo removed. It seemed to be a trait in many later recordi...

Oh the passion vinyl generates. I think some of it is down to the fact that vinyl is a much older format, so you are handling something a little historical. For me, picking up a vinyl disc is just a little thrilling. The smell is one thing, the delicacy of the engineering another. Mmmn. I kind of th...
