Some more info on Erskine
I'm waiting for Kevin Schaper to chime in about the "interesting" Live At Club Soul Sound.
Another interesting looking rocording. It is always interesting to hear what reunion bands do.

Lets talk more about Erskine Hawkins, I tend to think he is one of the greats that we tend to forget about. He was one of the longest resident house bands at the Savoy. I have much of the Classic Label CD of him but still have one or two gaps. This is what All music say about him. Biography by Scott...

A big problem with laptops is the Headphone jack. It surprises me how many swing DJ's don't use an external sound card for their music output. A Laptop computer Headphone Jack is just for casual personal listening to audio. Between the computer fan, hard drive and CD drive as well as odd wiring conn...

With line noise I would recommend looking at

This thread

this will give you the low down on most line noise problem solving.

EQ however does not have anything to do with line noise. It can only alter the
frequencies with in the recording.

Mmmm I'm a little unsure of the question also. I use my WinAmp EQ all the time, and I've even tried out using a 1/3 octive EQ on Winamp, but I am no deciding just to go back to the 1 octive EQ that is with the standard WinAmp. Can you re-state you question, and I'll tell you how I use and don't use ...

I've found WinAmp very, very good also.
The only time it hasn't behaved itself was when I was DJing and also trying to listen to a sample track from a free wireless link. Stupid me.

In some cases though, you also need session or take number to really be able to differentiate.
Yes that is very true, but how many labels supply that, just a hand full.
And if you are on Vinyl, many times you are lucky to get a date.

Nope,
The only thing I did with that song was to press play, many, many times.

The song is how it is off the CD.

People were also asking me, what was the warm up song:

Mine Too - Count Basie - 1949
