Has anyone used the Behringer UCA202 or UFO202? I have the UCA222 for headphone listening at work. It is reasonable for the $$$. I do not listen "loud" at all (maybe 2-3 max). I use the "ins" (with a converter) to plug in a headset for Skype-like voice meetings. I just got a UCA...

Great job and great idea! I haven't heard something in that style for dancers since Barbara Morrison's "Live At The 9:20 Special."

I think there're 4 discs that each go by a million names (they must be small runs no one can figure out how to describe), but the artist that they seem to be summed up under is: Gorni Kramer And they often go by names like "Jazz in the 30's" or "Jazz in Italy" or "Jazz in th...

I rip to lossless when I'm in control (which is annoying when I can't take things on the bus on my MP3 player, but dem's da breaks) for the same reason as Trev--why do more damage? I suppose I'm less willing to pay money for lossy tracks than lossless ones, but I'm not a purist. I'll play 128 MP3's ...

As experienced as he may be...do you think he might be young enough that his opinions about dances and music are influenced from being a teenager in the 40's-50's?

He's still taking dance lessons. Perhaps he was born in the 30's, not a teenager/twenty-something going out the clubs in the 30's.

Thanks everyone! Haydn, I'm not preparing to walk away from the computer & let the playlist run. Looking to learn the secrets of competent, danceable DJ's who spend ample time at their computers, but also relax & dance to at least 50% of their songs. Suspected it had something to do w/ playl...

Making Playlists In Advance

I have a gig coming up next week, and I decided to make a playlist in advance this time. I kept thinking if I was some sort of "respond to the floor" purist, I wouldn't do this. But now I think plenty of DJs I love dancing to have playlists and just tweak them in response to the floor. But...
